Afternoon Links – 9/25/2015.

John Boehner is resigning, and the Republican Party is in “disarray.”  If you had told me even a year ago that I would be in any way sorry to see Boehner go, I would not have believed you. But, in all honesty, he did pretty much bring this on himself.

Meanwhile, Kanye West was not kidding when he said he planned to run for president.

And in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Jimmy Carter said what many have thought for a while: that the US is not a democracy anymore but an oligarchy (an observation that was made in a 2014 report by scholars at Princeton and Northwestern universities).

In his review of The Martian and The Intern, Kyle Buchanan argues that we need more films about nice people being nice (and less films about antiheroes being dicks).

I love it when a plan comes together: Chris Morgan, Tawnia McKiernan, and Albert Kim are bringing back The A-Team.

Hugh Jackman thinks Tom Hardy would make a good Wolverine. And I totally agree with him.
